SEQUENCE - A connected series of five of the same colored chip either up or down, across or diagonally on the playing surface. NOTE: There are printed chips in the four corners of the game board. All players must use them as though their color marker chip is in the corner. When using a corner, only four of your marker chips are needed to complete a Sequence.
EQUIPMENT: Game Board, Playing cards, Playing chips, Game instructions. When two players or two teams are playing, use only two sets of chips. Three sets of chips are used only when there is a third player or third team. It can be played by up to four players or up to four teams. Each player or team gets either the red, yellow, green or blue colored chips and keeps them in a pile near them. Also, each player or team is dealt three playing cards face down. The left over cards remain in the deck and should be placed face down somewhere handy near the game board.
Cards are dealt out of sequence or the first deal begins with the wrong player, including in the case of the button being out of position. If a player is dealt the incorrect number of cards, unless it can be corrected without a change in card sequence. Dead Hands. Cards will always be considered dead if they are marked or damaged in some way.
Ten cards are initially dealt and then one less each consecutive round until only one card is being dealt. After the one card round an additionally card is dealt each round until there are 10 cards dealt. Starting the game. The following steps are repeated for each round: Cards are dealt starting with the player to the left of the dealer.
A jack is worth zero points, making it the best card. Adjacent cards — in the same row or column — of the same value (face cards must match; i.e. king and king) cancel each other and are worth zero points. Point totals are recorded at the end of each round. Typically, a game of golf consists of nine or 18 hands.
Samba. To meld a sequence you need three or more cards of the same suit in sequential order. For this purpose, 4 is low and Ace is high. Once laid out, either partner may extend the sequence by adding more cards. Once there are seven cards in a sequence it becomes a “Samba” or “Sequence Canasta” and receives a bonus of 1500 points. Canasta.
Liverpool rummy uses two decks of 52 cards, with two jokers designated as wild cards. Deal the hands. The first dealer is determined by a random draw. The person with the lowest card deals first. Liverpool rummy has seven deals. On the first deal, each player gets seven cards. On the second through fourth deal, the players get 10 cards each.
